Cirrus SR22 / SR22T
The SR22.
Maintained the way owners fly it.
The Cirrus SR22 and SR22T are the dominant high-performance piston singles of the last two decades, and the most demanding to maintain well. Parachute inspection, turbonormalizing system tuning, airframe AD exposure, and Perspective+ integration each have their own rhythm. We treat them that way.
Powerplant
Continental IO-550-N / TSIO-550-K
The naturally-aspirated IO-550-N and turbonormalized TSIO-550-K are the engines that make the SR22 what it is. At 5,020 feet MSL, normally-aspirated SR22s work harder on every takeoff than the same airframe at sea level. Borescope imagery, oil analysis trending, and careful CHT/EGT monitoring during break-in and overhaul cycles are the difference between a 2,000-hour engine and a 1,400-hour surprise.
Avionics
Perspective+ by Garmin
The Perspective+ integrated avionics suite demands more than box-swap maintenance: database currency, software revision tracking, GAD/GSU/GDU health monitoring, autopilot servo inspection, and magnetometer calibration all have recurring intervals. We keep the whole stack current, not just the GPS database.
Inspection Rhythm
What a generic shop misses on an SR22.
The SR22 looks deceptively simple: one door, one prop, one engine, clean composite surfaces. What looks clean on the outside can hide condition issues that only surface under a deliberate, platform-aware inspection.
- Composite airframe inspection for paint-delamination, impact damage, and moisture ingress, findings a metal-airframe mechanic may not recognize.
- Landing gear legs and wheel pants: stress-crack inspection points that are not on a generic checklist.
- CAPS rocket motor pyrotechnic condition, reefing line cutter status, and parachute pack inspection window.
- Turbonormalizing system on SR22T: wastegate condition, intercooler integrity, upper deck pressure performance.
- Induction airbox condition: alternate-air door function, filter condition, and heat shielding integrity.
- Electrical bus architecture: MCU, EPU, and alternator health checked against Perspective bus diagnostics, not just voltage.
